To kick off what will hopefully be a successful and longstanding presence in the Valley, Lorne Smith, a former All-American at Princeton and MLL player and Elite Lacrosse are hosting a FREE two-part offensive skills and shooting clinic this weekend with the help of Lacrosse Idaho.

Friday night from 5:30 to 7 pm, they will be hosting the shooting part of the clinic at the Elite Lacrosse gym. There will be a demonstration followed by some instructional time, as well as a fastest shot contest where Warrior Lacrosse will be awarding prizes. If you want to shoot, bring your lacrosse stick and gloves – no other equipment is required. It’s open to all ages, FREE OF CHARGE, and it is indoors. This will be a great opportunity to learn some tips and skills to help hone your game without costing you a cent or requiring you to stand out in the cold.

Saturday morning from 11 am to 12:30 pm, they will move down to the smurf turf of Boise State where they will hold the coaching clinic with the help of the Boise State Men’s lacrosse team. Here Lorne Smith will demonstrate different techniques in dodging, off-ball movement, and key aspects of the motion offense.

Again, both clinics are absolutely FREE, no strings attached.

Elite Lacrosse

Elite Lacrosse – For the past several year Jon Mundy, a local lacrosse talent, has been working with rising players from around the league. He would meet them in a local gym, out in the park, and wherever else they could find space to work on each player’s stick skills, athleticism, and lacrosse knowledge. Several great Idaho players have come out of this: Patrick Tunison was named an All-American his senior year at Bishop Kelly HS and is now at the University of Idaho, Joe Eck was named an All-American his senior year at Bishop Kelly HS and now plays at NCAA D3 Washington & Jefferson in Pennsylvania, not to mention several others who are rising through the ranks of the TVLL right now while training with Elite Lacrosse.

This fall, the guys at Elite Lacrosse started thinking, how can we see the game we love reach it’s full potential in the state of Idaho. They put their heads together and teamed up to offer their knowledge to anyone who is willing to listen. Countless hours of phone calls, meetings, planning, and preparation later, Elite Lacrosse has finally opened their doors.

Their motto? To be Idaho’s Leader in Lacrosse Education. Their mission? To build a better brand of lacrosse in the state of Idaho.

Elite Lacrosse is an enterprise which offers a variety of services designed to enhance your understanding of, skill in, and/or appreciation for the game of lacrosse, regardless of your point of view. They offer several services to people of all ages and experience levels. Whether that is skill and/or fitness training, coaching or administrator education, clinic coordination, graphic  design for team apparel, or team website creation, they have you covered.
