KTVB: Bishop Kelly Coach Gives Back to Program

For more than a century, baseball has been the sport of the spring and summer. But America’s favorite past time is getting a run for it’s money at the youth level by a sport that is growing very quickly in Idaho.

On Tuesday night, Ryan Larrondo of KTVB Channel 7 ran a feature on the Bishop Kelly High School Boys Lacrosse Program following up on their TVLL Championship win last Saturday. The feature was less about the big win and much more about the growth of the game in our great state.

Blake Gaudet, Bishop Kelly’s current head coach, helped start the BK program back when he was in high school and led the Knights to a State Championship in 2002, his senior season. In the video segment below, Coach Gaudet shares his passion for growing the sport at his alma mater. BK’s Patrick Tunison, a 2011 All-American midfielder, also chimes in with his perspective.
